Iran has successfully tested a long-distance ballistic missile

Iran successfully tested a ballistic missile with a potential range of 2,000 kilometers on Thursday, according to state media, just two days after Israel’s armed forces leader suggested “action against Tehran” over its nuclear program.

Persia, which has one of the most extensive missile programs in the Middle East, claims that its missiles are capable of hitting the regional bases of its arch-enemies Israel and the United States.

Despite criticism from the United States and Europe, Persia has stated that it will expand its “defensive” missile program.

“We want Islamic Republic of Iran’s enemies to know that we will defend the country and its achievements.” “Our message to our friends is that we want to contribute to regional stability,” Iranian Defense Minister Mohammadreza Ashtiani stated.

A short video clip was shown on Iranian state television showing the launch of an upgraded version of Persia’s Khoramshahr 4 ballistic missile.

The missile is said to have a range of 2,000 kilometers and the capacity to carry a 1,500 kilogram warhead.

According to the state news agency IRNA, the liquid-fueled missile was given the name “Kheibar”, alluding to a Jewish fortress occupied by Muslim fighters during the early Islamic period.
