Former Prime Minister and head of the Forza Italia government coalition, Silvio Berlusconi, died at the age of 86 on Monday morning, according to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Meloni called Berlusconi “one of the most powerful figures in Italian history.”

“Silvio Berlusconi was above all a fighter, a man who was never afraid to defend his convictions, and it was precisely that courage and determination that made him one of the most influential people in the history of Italy,” Meloni said in a video message, highlighting the former prime minister’s true achievements in politics, communication, and business.
“Italy learned from him that limits could never be imposed on it.” He realized he should never quit up. We fought, won, and lost numerous fights with him.
We will also attain the goals we established together for him.
“Goodbye, Silvio,” Meloni added.
