🇪🇺 Ursula von der Leyen Slams Iran For Sowing ‘Violence And Chaos’ In the Middle East 

Despite considerable criticism from European politicians and citizens in Brussels over her staunch support for Israel, Ursula von der Leyen repeated her position during a speech on Sunday

Israeli defense against Hamas must be “in accordance with international law,” she said – but again refused to tackle the topic of Palestinian Statehood. 

“There is no contradiction in standing in solidarity with Israel and providing humanitarian aid in Gaza,” she stated. 

She then compared Israel to Ukraine, claiming, “All these conflicts have one thing in common: they are about the struggle between those who seek peace, balance, freedom, and cooperation — and those who do not want any of this because they profit from the chaos and disorder.” 

On Iran, she said that Tehran stood “behind Hamas” and that “Iran has no interest whatsoever in this region coming to peace. On the contrary, Iran wants to foment violence and chaos because that secures its influence.” /TelegraphNews
