This year has seen the biggest number of foreigners entering Germany without proper residence permits since the 2016 migratory crisis. This was made clear by the release of updated migration numbers on Saturday.
According to federal police, 21,366 migrants entered the country illegally in September. That is about twice as many as there were in July when there were 10,714 persons.
This is the number of persons enrolled since February 2016, when 25,650 were registered. Almost 112,000 undocumented migrants arrived in Germany in the year after the peak of the refugee crisis caused by the Syrian civil war.
This year’s total appears to be higher: 92,119 migrants were registered from January to September. /TelegraphNews
