Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won Turkey’s presidency for the third time, after competing in the second presidential round for the first time in history, against Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
Erdogan, the People’s Alliance presidential candidate, won the election with 52% of the vote. Over 98% of the votes have been tabulated so far, and the party was founded by supporters of Turkey’s president.
The ballot boxes were opened at 8:00 a.m. and closed at 17:00 p.m., and the counting procedure began immediately, moving at a rapid speed.

While the voting procedure for immigrants has been closed since May 24, 167 polling booths have been established in 73 countries with a strong presence of Turks for about 3.5 million voters enrolled on the electoral roll abroad.
Ballots used in other countries were sent to Turkey by flights and diplomatic couriers to be tallied with the others today.
There were also unique instances on this crucial day for the Turkish people where the bride and groom cast their votes amid the happiest moments of their life.
A Turkish voter, on the other hand, did not appear alone at the polling places since she brought the lamb with her, which accompanied her at all times.
Those who had been evacuated from Turkey following the earthquake returned to their provinces to vote. The government gave them with free bus transportation.
Some of the laws enforced exclusively for this crucial day include a prohibition on the sale of alcoholic drinks, the closure of entertainment places, and the start of marriages after the polls closed.
