At least 39 people have now died in Mexico after the passage of the powerful Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, ten people are still missing
MEXICO, Oct 29 (Telegraph News) — The Mexican government announced this on Saturday. An earlier assessment reported 27 fatalities and four missing. The 39 dead – 29 men and 10 women – could not yet be identified. Most of them died by drowning.
Otis made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane shortly after midnight local time on Wednesday. This was accompanied by wind speeds of almost 270 kilometers per hour. The hurricane had formed off the Pacific coast of Mexico in just a few hours. Over land, it lost strength before finally dissolving. /NIEUWSBLAD
