Gas Pipeline Shut Down As Hole Appears

Finland’s Gasgrid has shut down the Balticconnector pipeline, which carries LNG between Estonia and Finland due to an “unusual drop in pressure,” it said

“If it appears that the unusual pressure drop observed in the morning of October 8 in the Balticconnector pipeline is due to a leak causing damage to the pipe, repair work may take at least several months depending on the nature of the damage,” it said.

The Finnish government is due to make an announcement on the ‘national security threat’ imminently.
