BREAKING NEWS : The United States House of Representatives voted 212-208 to censure Rep. Adam B. Schiff

Rep. Adam B. Schiff was censured by the House on Wednesday, but as he stood in the well to hear Speaker Kevin McCarthy announce the decision, fellow Democrats screamed “shame” and “disgrace” at the GOP majority while clapping and patted Schiff on the back.

The resolution of censure also stated that the California Democrat, who was a prosecutor in Trump’s first impeachment trial, will be examined by the Ethics Committee for “falsehoods, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information.”

Schiff is the 25th member of the House to be censured, and the first since 2010.

The decision came as some House Republicans prepared to launch impeachment votes on President Joe Biden and maybe other members of his administration.

A hearing on the Biden impeachment attempt began shortly after lawmakers left the floor.

With six members voting present, the censure vote was 213-209.

The resolution was proposed by Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who says the former House Intelligence Committee chairman unfairly attacked Trump.

The resolution claims that Schiff misused his position as the panel’s ranking member and head by spreading false allegations about Trump’s 2016 campaign collaborating with Russia./RollCall
