Putin has ruled out martial law in Russia

There is no need for martial law or greater deployment of Russian forces at this time, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“It depends on what you want to achieve.”

Our forces were stationed in Kiev. “Should we go back there?” – Putin stated during a Kremlin meeting with Russian military bloggers and combat journalists.

“The reason I ask such a rhetorical question is that it is obvious that there is no answer.”

I can only respond to it myself. However, based on the goals we set for ourselves, we must make a decision on mobilization.

Today, though, there is no need for such a thing,” he remarked.

According to the Russian president, some 156,000 troops have been enlisted since January, including contract soldiers who were recruited and those who volunteered.

He also stated that, while the work of law enforcement and special services may be improved, martial law should not be imposed throughout Russia.
