The Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported that a commando battalion has been allocated at the request of the NATO Joint Force Command, and that preparations have begun for the transfer of Turkish soldiers to the “Sultan Murat” Barracks in Kosovo until June 5.

On Friday, May 26, the sworn mayors of the Republic’s most northern municipalities, Zubin Potok, Zveçan, and Leposaviq, were compelled to enter their work offices with the support of the Kosovo Police.

Six Kosovo police officers and 30 KFOR troops were hurt as a result of the violent protests, while Serbs also attacked journalists.

Members of KFOR and the Kosovo Police, who are in charge of preserving order, are still stationed around and inside the municipal buildings.
